What Does "Gum Free" Mean, And Why You Should Be

At Three Trees, we've created the most delicious and pure nut and seedmilks on the market and we never use preservatives, gums, or anything artificial.

We keep it real, just like home made.

When you go to invest in a healthy, high-quality plant-based milk, we don't think there should be any harmful or artificial ingredients hiding on the label. Especially when something is marketed as “healthy”...

Next time you're grocery shopping, check out the labels for ingredients and words you don't understand. The ingredients should be just what you would find in your kitchen pantry.

One ingredient to avoid is gum.

These are used as a thickener and emulsifier to improve the texture of a product. We don't use them at Three Trees, we just use more nuts and real ingredients (go figure)!

Gums have been known to cause gastrointestinal side effects such as gas, bloating, gut inflammation and can even have an affect on your gut flora. And they can be hiding in your milks, yogurts, ice creams and even tooth paste.

Gums to avoid are:
  • Guar gum
  • Locust bean gum
  • Gum arabic
  • Tara gum
  • Gellan gum
  • And carrageenan (one of the worst offenders).

That's why we're proud (and dedicated) to making a 100% clean and artificial free product that you can trust, that's also the best. Let's leave this on a good note by listing the lovely ingredients in our original almond milk: Filtered water and organic almonds.
